He has been in the food retail business for 38 years, starting with a produce stand he operated from 1977 through 1983.<\/strong> <\/p><p>He learned the management side of the industry while working as area supervisor for a convenience store chain. But the taste of being his own boss stayed with him and he seized a golden opportunity in 1995. That year he bought an existing grocery store and renamed it Family Foods.<\/p><p>Today, he employs more than 20 workers and though he is the owner, he still works at the store as general manager.
